To utilize the UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3, Mac users require an available Thunderbolt 1, 2, or 3 port, and macOS 10.12 Sierra, 10.13 High Sierra, or 10.14 Mojave. Windows users, on the other hand, need an available Thunderbolt 3 port and Windows 10 (64-Bit Edition). All users will also require a Thunderbolt 3 cable (not included), an internet connection to download software and authorize UAD plug-ins, and 6GB of available storage.
The UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 is equipped with either 4 (QUAD) or 8 (OCTO) Shark processors, providing a massive DSP boost for running large professional mixes. This powerful hardware is compatible with a wide range of digital audio workstations, including Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase, and Live, among others.
Users can access over 100 plug-ins from renowned audio equipment manufacturers, such as Ampex, Lexicon, Studer, Neve, Manley, SSL, EMT, and Helios. The Analog Classics Plus bundle, which is included, features legacy editions of iconic plug-ins like the LA-2A Classic Audio Leveler, 1176 Classic Limiting Amplifiers, Pultec EQP-1A, Pultec Pro, and Fairchild 670, as well as the 610-B tube preamp and EQ.
The UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 can be combined with other Thunderbolt-equipped UAD-2 devices, including PCIe cards, UA Audio Interfaces, and additional Satellites. Its dual Thunderbolt 3 ports allow for the daisy-chaining of Thunderbolt peripherals, providing users with a seamless and expandable setup.
Additionally, the UAD-2 Satellite Thunderbolt 3 is available with Custom software packages, offering users the flexibility to select the specific plug-ins that best suit their needs and workflows.
